An MIB 3:16 mashup

So John had this idea that we brainstormed yesterday about using the 3:16 rules to do a sort of MIB/Ghostbusters/Attrocity Archives game. Base idea would be to trade the paranoia and shell shock of 3:16's warhmmer 40k soldiers for something funnier but still slightly edgy.

I was thinking today of

- swapping the 3 hit health track with Sanity
- combat drugs with a 'mind bleach' pill

not sure what to armor

making two phases to each alien/mythos (replace planet with mythos/alien/demon/whatever)
phase 1 - investigation ( players need to get so many hits on the investigation phase to make it to the next phase
phase 2 - combat/trap phase where the players need to defeat the alien.

flashbacks could be used in either phase, but obviously using them in phase 1 would mean the team was less powerful for the phase 2 fight

Super Villain Rehab

Con Scenario - one shot

System : Smallville

Premise : 3 super powered vilians in rehab for their evil ways, their case worker, and a bitter disillusioned super hero babysitter.

The situaiton is ripe for conflict.  The super hero hates being a babysitter, and may work to see the villains commit new evil and get thrown out of the program.  The villains are evil, but trying to do good.  The case worker has gambling debts and needs cash.

I ran this with PTA, but it proved to be too heavy in PvP events to work in that system.

Charaters : 

Villain - Pyro - a twenty year old fire controller and hothead

Villain - Pheremone - a mid 30s hottie with the ability to create scents to control those around her

Villain - Dr. Death - a reformed necromancer, who works at a local fast food emporium

Case Worker - gambling debts and a hateful ex-wife

Super Hero - disillusioned and not wanting to be there.

 

An old WWII idea

Con Scenario - probably 2 linked sessions

Premise :  Late December 1944, Ardennes Forest, a group of regular soldiers (no commandos or crack troopers here) are ordered to take an hold a small villiage near a strategic bridge. 

Objective 1 - take the village from the Germans, which the soldiers should be happy to do since the forest is freezing outside this time of year.  I'm envisoning the big building in the town being a church, thats where the german machine gun nest would have the best vantage point.

Once in the villaige/church the soldiers are haunted/terrorized by a ghost.  The ghost however is warning them that the real threat here is a werewolf.  Need to foreshadow that some with disappearing german guards howling.

Objective 2 - hold the village from the werewolf and the advancing german armor, probably a single tank or two would be sufficient.

There are too many things here for a single adventure, but I don't see a clear breakpoint for the action.  Need to give that some thought.

System : SW for combat with some extra keys for roleplaying possibilities.

 

The 6 God Damn Batmen

Con scenario idea for a one shot.

Premise : 6 different incarnations of Batman, including

Adam West 1960 TV batman

Michael Keaton 1990s batman

Dark Night Batman

maybe cartoon Batman from Batman: The Brave and the Bold

 

are all trapped by the Joker in a building of deahttraps and henchmen.  They have to cooperate to get out, but they are all loners and use to lone wolfing it.

plus the comedy element.

 

The reveal at the end should be that its not the Joker but Robin that has been torturing them, being completely fed up with being a sidekick.
